LUXURY FRIULAN BABOUCHES
Handmade shoes.
CREATED WITH LOVE IN ITALY
we work with passion
"Our Babouches will never be predictably perfect, because they are handmade. We are constantly confronted with the imperfections of the raw materials we use for the upper and which we do not want to hide but exalt. This shoe was born as a" poor "shoe, and for centuries women of the families made them during the winter, using the little they had available: the sole was made from old bicycle tires, the uppers were scraps of fabric, the Blecs, and scraps of fabric scraps. Babouches Frulan decided to maintaining the tradition in the LE VELOURS, LES SOIERIES and ÉTOFFES lines but the ancient art of shoe making has met in our company the right contemporary momentum in the use of leather, even exotic, and furs.
A project unrelated to the fashions of the moment that tend towards what is defined (for us) erroneously ecological, because what can be less respectful for the environment than using materials produced with pollutants? The furlane style immediately appeared to us in continuous evolution, from its origins in the Carnic mountains they spread rapidly throughout northern Italy, capturing the interest of the gondoliers of the Serenissima who used them so as not to damage the woods of the precious boats. . "
In recent years they have also been appreciated and worn by famous personalities such as Kate Moss, George Clooney, Amal Alamuddin and Giorgio Armani.
Starting from the idea of wanting to contribute to the diffusion of scarpetz, we started a creative process that, without ever abandoning tradition, envisaged innovation in the shape, structure, choice of materials and accessories up to manufacturing: moments linked by a simple and for this clean and elegant. Furlane shoes for us are a refined, aristocratic and comfortable shoe and these qualities converge in the idea we have of the contemporary woman who is increasingly autonomous and emancipated. We therefore believe that fashion should also give women a role in tune with what they are today by offering refined but “wearable” elements.
In addition to the lines dedicated to women and children, we have subsequently also added the men's and children's line, starting from the awareness of how much the daily approach to the outside world has changed and how much our age, a digital age, has accustomed us to comfort.
Of course we produce in Friuli where we have the know-how of the ladies (all strictly between 65 and 80 years old !!!) who are the authentic guarantors of the craftsmanship of our Babouches.
